The mildly overcast sky was not ominous at all; that was probably the first thing Sophie noticed when walking out. Sometimes clouds could appear dark and intimidating, yet this day had a more slow and almost peaceful movement to it. Sounds of small animals moving and the wind gently blowing were the only things that convinced Sophie the world had not fallen asleep. Still, even with this knowledge she could not bring herself to make much ruckus at all. It was like a small fear of shattering the quietness had spontaneously developed. How odd.
Naturally due to instinct, Sophie pulled the dark, almost black-tinted red jacket around her even tighter. The cool breeze passed by her creating chills which caused her body to shiver a small bit every now and then. After a few more minutes, her ears started to get a tad cold. Sophie, not having any hat of any kind, just brought her hand up to her ear. She tubbed it with her bare hand as if hoping to transfer some fort of body heat to it. After that, she did the same small process to the other ear.
Shaking her head a bit, she started walking again. She was not close to the lake since she was not comfortable with doing so. Knowing Sophie, she would just happen to lose her balance if she did go to close to the water. Things like that could happen. No, things like that did happen. Sophie really was not fond of irony taking a part in life, but it did.
Soft breaths escaped her lips. The puffs of air were visible before Sophie's face. It was not terribly freezing at the moment, but it was still pretty cool. It was cool enough to where Sophie was considering she should turn around soon and head back. That one little option continued to dance around in the back of Sophie's mind, yet she did not want to listen to it immediately. Maybe it was natural stubbornness. That was always a possibility when it came to Sophie.
For a few minutes she forgot why she had come out to such an area. As she thought to herself, eventually she remember. She was looking for inspiration to draw since she had not been able to come up with anything lately. She had been searching for a reason to create something and something to base her creation off of. That was why she had come. Sophie remembered now.
As she looked out to the ice-coated lake, her mind remained rather bleak and barren. Her face made a mild frown as she looked out. The fact that she was trying to think of something but couldn't was obvious on her feminine facial features. 'This is really annoying; My muse has appeared to have gone hibernating,'She thought to herself. If her muse was hibernating, she hoped it would wake up soon. If it didn't, she probably would not stay sane for much longer and that was something no one wanted to experience.
If she wasn't afraid of drowning and it was a hot day, she might have jumped into the lake in an attempt to wash her obstacles away.

Athena was walking around the lake, strolling around as if she had nothing better to do. She wandered around and glanced dow a couple times to see her own face staring back at her.
Do i really look like that? She thought, looking at the beautiful face staring back at her. She heard a twig crack and saw another figure moving near her.
She seemed to be distracted, upset, even. But Athena wouldn't stop there. A good look at the face told her it was Sophie Leone.
"Hey, aren't you an artist?" Athena asked, her voice ringing clear and full.

'Think think think...oh, screw this...WORK WORK WORK,' The dark-haired female repeated over and over again in her head. She doubted such a minor and mental request would suddenly jump start her creativity. But, desperate times called for desperate measures. To most artists, when their creativity died a bit and it faded, that was definitely a desperate time and was terribly frustrating. It was as if a vital part of their everyday lives were suddenly stolen and left them in a bind.
For a few seconds, Sophie forced herself to stop thinking. It was like she had temporarily turned off the switch to her brain and it brought a surprising amount of relief to her. Physically, her face looked as if a great burden had suddenly been lifted and everything seemed softer about her. Her breathing slowed, but only for a bit. It was not long before the struggling look on her face reappeared. These days it was harder and harder to completely ignore some things, even if they weren't as serious to others.
Sophie had not yet noticed the other girl out and about around the lake. She was completely oblivious to the other girl's presence. It was probably clear that Sophie was currently unaware of what was occurring around her. The look in her eyes seemed so distant as if she were looking into a crystal ball and seeing something that others could not. Light brown orbs gazed out into the landscape searching desperately for something. Obviously, she was not succeeding as the annoyance remained evident on her face.
"Hey, aren't you an artist?"
It was like a shattering sensation to suddenly be brought out of her mental conflict in such a manner. While it of course appeared mild to the other girl, it was like an electrical jolt to Sophie. She felt stupid honestly for being caught off guard so easily. Surprise openly flickered across her face as she turned to look at the other girl. Her eyes instantly met the pair of vibrant green ones. Sophie really noticed they appeared to contrast with her dark hair a good deal. It was interesting really.
As she looked at the girl's face, Sophie recognized seeing her around the academy. She had never really spoken to her much though. Athena was her name, wasn't it? Sophie was pretty confident that was it. She was about 99.9% sure since it was not a common name in Sophie's opinion. If it was, she was not at all aware of it because she surely had not heard it much often before.
Sophie nodded her head sending the girl a friendly smile. "Yeah, that's right," She replied with a trace of modesty in her voice. Sophie knew she was talented, but didn't like to boast unless she was particularly proud of a work she had just completed. Her lack of muse brought her spirits down a bit and thus the reason why her voice was a bit softer than usual and almost annoyed. "However, my muse has appeared to have abandoned and stripped me of any skill for the time being," She then added while throwing in another smile.
"Athena, right?" She asked, making sure she did have the girl's name correct.
